Gini Maddocks, BA, LMT began teaching stress management first as a social worker and later as a licensed medical massage therapist. She is now an award winning author, educator, columnist and speaker. She has developed and branded, R&R: Rescue and Relief™, a program which includes self-care techniques for all walks of life...
Gini has a BA in sociology from Miami University —
and worked as a social worker for a number of years.
Over 23 years experience in massage therapy and stress management techniques
gathered from Maine to Hawaii , gives her a dynamic way of introducing
simple yet significant behavioral modifications into the workplace—convincing
hundreds that they too can “FEEL BETTER”!
Her self-help and health tips dominate her writing which
includes: her own column, “Saying my Peace”, her newsletter, "UpLifts™,
several quotes in Massage Magazine and national publication, Woman's
World. She wrote a 3-time award winning book, R&R: Rescue and Relief
for Computer Users and those at Risk of Repetitive Motion Injury (RMI),
winner of Book Notes Magazine's 2004 award in the Self-Help category—
and the IPPY Award from the Independent Publishers in the Computer category—a
real coup!--and the DYI Award in the Health
category!
Drawing upon her "everyday" living experiences, such as overcoming
the effects of Polio and breast cancer and freedom from a long time eating
disorder, she teaches what has worked for her--and shares how much fun
you can have with the process.
"My highest credentials are my life experiences. Surviving polio, breast cancer, and conquering a 30-year eating disorder, I have great appreciation for the lessons of being human," she explains.
A child of the 60's, a woman of the 90's, and a pioneer of the 21st Century, I have many perspectives from which to draw. My favorite is the work I do-- I learn and I teach. During my 20-plus years as a massage therapist, I have practiced from Maine to Hawaii, and back home to Ohio again.
