What is a CSA?
A CSA is an opportunity to purchase a share of a famer's entire crop for a season. You share the bounty (and risk) of the growing season with the farmer. (CSA sites)
UCLA Study on Hormones
The male reaction to stress is immediate hormonal release of testosterone while females release oxytocin--the "soft and fuzzy" hormone. This is likely a 'throw-back" to the saber-tooth tiger days--when women needed to procure and secure...in the face of aggressive behavior.
A likely explantation for the different "parenting styles" between females and males, eh? Much like "good cop--bad cop." I believe there is purpose in both.approaches... before early 20's--the cerebral cortex has not made enough neuronal connections to really accept the "cause and effect" principle applies to the "self". That is why we constantly say to our teenagers, "what were you thinking?"
So, the male tendency to demand behavior based upon, "I told you so"--makes good sense for protection from dangerous behaviors.
Whereas, the role of the female explaining so much--aids in that very neuronal hook-up--but until it is coupled with enough experience, it doesn't seem to have relevance.
so, don't fight each other's methods--nor spend energy over "who's right"... use them both--it takes much creativity to raise a child--and various methods often apply.
Walk for Leukemia
Kelly, mother of twins, was looking for a way to lose "pregnancy fat" and tone up. Me? I had turned into a couch potato - and it was showing! I knew I'd better be getting in shape if I want to keep up with all my grandkids. If someone had told me six months ago that I'd be getting up at 3AM to walk 7 miles before going to work, I'd have laughed - hysterically. But here I am doing just that!
Leukemia & Lymphoma affects children and adults, and they go through everything they must do to fight the disease without knowing if they will win their battle. Our team hero is 4 year old Jennifer who has had leukemia over half of her life. Her Mom tells about having to help hold her down for spinal taps while Jennifer tearfully asked her not to let them hurt her any more.
Bob Wendel, my personal hero, spent 4 months in a hospital while waiting to see if a stem cell transplant from his sister would work. These folks and their families are true heroes; they have no choice but to do what they must, and they still smile - and encourage us!

They are wonderful people who will bend over backwards to give all the support you need. There are lots of locations/trips from which to choose, i.e., from the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati to a triathalon in Hawaii. And trust me, you don't have to "be in shape" to "get in shape!"
